Mystery Jars
The 4th graders learned about estimating using a small reference. Their assignment was to create a mystery jar to bring to school full of small objects. The students kept the number of their objects a secret. Each student used a separate baggie as a "reference". They put 10 or 20 objects in the baggie to make estimating the Mystery Jar easier. We had a great time estimating the amount of objects in each other's Mystery Jars!
