Scientific Method - Types of Boats Experiment

The 4th graders are experts at using the scientific method and conducted an experiment to see which type of boat holds more marbles - wide or narrow. We decided that we needed to set some controls, or keep things the same in the experiment. Each group had to get the same amount of tin foil and we used the same size marbles for each group. After making the boats, the 4th graders put their boats into a tub of water and added marbles until the boat sank. Team 1's boat held the most, holding 45 marbles!
